Title: Expectation of peace
A gigantic statue named Long Live Peace was unveiled on the Peace and
Friendship Square in Beijing on January 1st, 2001.
This 9.6-meter tall, stainless-steel statue is created by the famous artist
Wen Yuan Yuan, the 24th generation of the great national hero Wen Tian
Xiang in Chinese history. It expresses the common hope of the people of
the world the expectation of peace.

Title: Praying for Peace on the First Day of the New Century
On the first day of the new century Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries inaugurates a gigantic statue “Long Live Peace” on the Friendship Square in Beijing. The Manifesto of Co-operation and Peace for Local Governments is read out again and presented to the United Nations, the Museum of Chinese History and Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. More than 180 mayors of 47 countries including China have signed on the Manifesto.

ceremony.

On 10th May, the 55th anniversary of the victory of the anti-fascist war, a copper sculpture “Safeguarding Peace” created by the sculptor Yao Yuan was given as a present to Russia by the Sino- Russian Association. It will be settled in the Moscow Central Museum.

Title: The Chinese Invigorating Dragon in 2000
Entrusted by the World Chinese League in the USA, the Chinese famous artist Yao Yuan, the 24th generation of the great national hero Wen Tian Xiang in Chinese history has finished on 25/06 the design drawing of the huge sculpture “Chinese Invigorating Dragon”. The sculpture will be settled in Beijing in Sep. to greet the coming of the new millennium (the year of dragon).

Recently two Chinese Invigorating Dragons created by the 24th generation of Wen Tian Xiang, Mr. Yao Yuan have been installed on each side of the television tower of CCTV in Beijing. Each dragon has 15 metres long and 9.9 metres high. They are made of high polymers and covered with golden leaves. The dragons have 56 dorsal fins which stand for the 56 nations in China.

A small sample of the sculpture “Chinese Invigorating Dragon” installed in the front of the television tower of CCTV in Beijing was given as a propitious symbol to Macao by Mr. Yao Yuan, the 24th generation of Wen Tian Xiang just one month after the handover of Macao to China.

Phoenix Satellite TV Station on 30/06 and by CCTV on 06/07. Mr. Yao Yuan,
the lyricist, composer and director of this concert is the 24th generation

A symphonic choral concert titled “Ode to Chine” will be held at the China Theatre on 28/06. The symphonic orchestra and the chorus of the General Political Department of PLA will participate in the performance. The piece will be aired on Phoenix Satellite TV on June 30, the eve of the 1st anniversary of Hong Kong’s handover to the motherland and by CCTV on June 7th. Mr. Yao Yuan is the lyricist, composer and co-director of this performance.

Title: “Ode to the Great Wall”
To celebrate the handover of Hong Kong to the motherland, Mr. Yao Yuan composed a Symphony “Ode to the Great Wall” and produced it as a television musical film on CCTV. Cheng Zhi, Yin Xiu Mei, 2 famous singers in China, the top-level troupes as the Symphonic Orchestra, the Chorus of the General Political Department of PLA participated in the performance.

Title: A statue in bronze is given as a gift to Korea
Cheju Island by Hainan Provincial Government - The Inauguration of the
“Conch Girl” is held in Cheju Island
The sculpture in bronze titled “Conch Girl” created by Mr.
Yao Yuan and offered by Hainan Provincial Government was unveiled in Cheju
Sculpture Island Park on 06/10. It was located at the entrée of
the park and it is the only sculpture works of foreign artists. This sculpture
symbolises the friendship between two countries.
